The reverse osmosis membrane can intercept various inorganic ions, colloidal substances and macromolecular solutes in water, and can also be used for pre-concentration of macromolecular organic solutions. working principle:
Reverse osmosis, also known as reverse osmosis, uses the pressure difference as the driving force to exert pressure on the material and liquid on one side of the membrane. When the pressure exceeds its osmotic pressure, the solvent will reverse osmosis against the direction of natural permeation. The solvent permeated on the low pressure side is the permeate, and the solvent obtained on the high pressure side is the concentrate. If seawater is treated by reverse osmosis, fresh water is obtained on the low pressure side of the membrane and brackish water is obtained on the high pressure side.
The diameter of the micropores on the surface of the reverse osmosis membrane is generally between 0.5 and 10 nm, and the permeability is related to the chemical structure of the membrane itself. Some polymer materials have good salt repellency, but the water permeability is not good; some polymer materials have more hydrophilic groups in the chemical structure, so the water permeability is relatively fast. Therefore, a satisfactory reverse osmosis membrane should have an appropriate amount of permeation or salt rejection rate.
The calculation method of reverse osmosis membrane desalination rate + salt permeability + salt permeability + recovery rate is as follows:
Salt permeability of reverse osmosis membrane = reverse osmosis membrane product water concentration/influent water concentration × 100%
Desalination rate of reverse osmosis membrane = (1-salt content of reverse osmosis membrane product water / salt content of influent water) × 100%
Salt permeability of reverse osmosis membrane = 100%-desalination rate
Recovery rate of reverse osmosis membrane = (product water flow of reverse osmosis membrane/influent flow) × 100%
Calculation method of water production + permeation flow rate + recovery rate:
Water production of reverse osmosis membrane: refers to the water production capacity of the reverse osmosis system, that is, the amount of water passing through the reverse osmosis membrane per unit time, usually expressed in tons/hour or gallons/day.
Permeation flow rate of reverse osmosis membrane: It is also an important indicator of the water production of reverse osmosis membrane elements. It refers to the flow rate of permeate per unit membrane area, usually expressed in gallons per square foot per day (GFD).
The recovery rate, salt permeability, and calculation formula of the reverse osmosis membrane module are as follows:
Recovery rate of reverse osmosis membrane module = reverse osmosis membrane module water production/intake water×100%
Salt permeability of reverse osmosis membrane module = reverse osmosis membrane module product water concentration/influent water concentration × 100%
